Andy Kristian is an International Award winning documentary photographer of Ugandan (East African) descent, currently based on the East Coast of the United States. He has traveled the world with his camera and tripod in tow, documenting people, sceneries and things. Even though he was introduced to photography as a young teenager by his boyhood friend, he did not become a career photographer well after completing graduate school in political science/international relations. In less than 5 years, his work has already won awards, been published in commercial magazines, and his collaborative effort documenting the end of war of Northern Uganda will soon result in a coffee table book. He has spoken on photography at universities, schools and events. This is Andy’s first major work, which, is going to be hugely distributed in public media including print, television and an adaptation to radio. It will also climax in Andy’s first solo exhibitions in Uganda. The exhibitions are public, and everyone will be welcome to the shows on dates to be announced soon.
Andy lives with his wife Sonya (photographer) in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. They both earn a living as documentary and traveling (international) wedding and family photographers.
